Rules:

1. NO STOLEN ART!
The image must be coloured by you, and collaborations will not be allowed. This means that no matter how good you think another person is at colouring, you cannot ask that person to colour it for you and submit the work as your own. That will make us angry, very angry indeed! So steer clear of inciting our wrath.

2. QUALITY ISSUES
Please put forth your best effort and the best quality, i.e.
- no sloppy colouring outside the lines
- no bad scans/photos if you choose to print the image out and colour it with traditional means
- drawings must be coloured. That means you may not submit an entry shaded in greyscale or with a pencil.

3. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT TWO (2) ENTRIES.

4. ALL IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN!
To upload your image full-size you can use the feature 'Upload a folder of images' that is shown on your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wikipage.
<URL:upload_zip.html>
Once you click this link you can follow the instructions. See also uploading images.

5. SUBJECT MATTER AND MEDIUM
There is a strict subject matter. Only images that fit the theme will be allowed, random or too heavily modified images will be removed. We wish for the guard uniforms to remain the main focus of the image, so no adding a large and comprehensive background and making the guards an insignificant detail.

Also, since the winners will be featured on Mainstreet, images that depict graphic violence or other disturbing actions will not be accepted. That means no giving the guards gory head wounds.

All applicable mediums will be accepted.

6. THEME
This contest has no actual new theme; instead, your objective is to colour the winner of the Design the Guard Uniform contest. Do not add any major elements into the image. The only exception to this will be a background.

7. COPYRIGHT
Since the lineart for this competition has already been made, there is an issue of copyright.
We discovered that the one who claimed to have created it actually simply stole it from a Photoshop anime drawing tutorial.
This means we do not have permission to use this image and therefore it's not allowed to use your entries outside of Elftown's wiki-pages anymore. We ask you to stop displaying the entries on your houses.

Deadline:
The deadline of this competition is April 1, 2007.

We will be picking two (2) images as the winners.

Ten images will be picked out by the Council and the Assembly among all those presented and a Mainstreet poll will tell the winner.
Participants will receive an art donor badge, and winners will receive a coloured version of the same (or a green/coloured Masters of Building badge if they are committed art donors).

2007-03-05 [eyes of frost]: I know I know...but it's still not big enough. The bigger the better when it comes to PS. :)

2007-03-05 [Calico Tiger]: Really? :O Looks big to me XD

2007-03-05 [eyes of frost]: It would be nice top have it screen size...like 1024x768

2007-03-05 [Elegy - gone]: I'd say 925x1028 is more than big enough =P

2007-03-05 [Dark Side of the Moon]: [eyes of frost], my monitor shows it pretty small also but try this: click on the image and then when it opens in another window hold your arrow over the image for a couple of seconds. In the lower right corner another box will appear with arrows pointing out in each direction. Click on that box and you will get the full sized image. :)

2007-03-05 [eyes of frost]: Thanks Ir...but I knew that. :) Is it really that big? It doesn't seem like it...Poo.

2007-03-05 [Sunrose]: Consider it a challenge ;)

2007-03-05 [eyes of frost]: Debby!!...Fine fine I was going to color it...

2007-03-05 [Elisha Kelly]: well I am in... cant resist colouring stuff :D

2007-03-05 [Dark Side of the Moon]: It fills an 8 1/2" x 11" paper nicely. I believe that's A4 for you folks across the Atlantic! <img:44166_1164144907.gif>

2007-03-05 [Sienta]: I'll try....... may not be my forte, but that's why I'm gonna do it. Have to practice those things that I'm not good at. ^_^

2007-03-09 [anaiya]: ... even if it isn't big enough it really isn't hard to resize then size back down when you are done...

2007-03-12 [Talvikki]: yay! i love coloring. more than drawing probably :\

2007-03-13 [trexor]: do you guys think it would change the image too add yellow poka-dots

2007-03-13 [Elegy - gone]: As a pattern on the clothes?

2007-03-13 [trexor]: yes

2007-03-13 [Elegy - gone]: How would that be changing the image? o.O That would just be colouring it

2007-03-13 [trexor]: well cool just making sure before i got out the old coloring crayons

2007-03-21 [Ocean Soul]: Is ir allowed to make them switch the place? Like, girl right and guy left? Looks much better somehow >>

2007-03-21 [Linderel]: I... guess...? If you want to. o_O

2007-03-22 [Calico Tiger]: Well.... it's about just uniform colors. Flipping the image isn't technically changing anything about it, but.... no. It actually can make a difference in the eyes and how people look at it. We'd rather not have anything different about the image other than colors. Makes it as fair as possible :) Mirroring an image can make a big difference sometimes (again, in how it's perceived).
